TWOTHIRDS
TWOTHIRDS stands for sustainable fashion, inspired by the sea. The brand was founded in Barcelona with the mission to produce clothing in an environmentally conscious and responsible way. The name refers to the fact that two-thirds of our planet consists of oceans – a central element of the brand's philosophy.
TWOTHIRDS focuses on high-quality, durable materials and transparent production processes. Many of the fabrics used are organic or recycled, and production primarily takes place in Europe under fair conditions.
Characteristic of TWOTHIRDS is its timeless design: clean cuts, natural colors, and functional clothing that deliberately sets itself apart from fast-paced trends. Additionally, the brand often produces only after an order is placed to avoid overproduction and conserve resources.

PRE-ORDER System
Industry average: Overproduction = 21%, Waste = 4–9%
TWOTHIRDS: Overproduction = 0–4%, Waste = 0%
TWOTHIRDS represents a conscious, new approach to fashion. With its PRE-ORDER system, the brand fundamentally rethinks production, sales, and consumption.
THE PROBLEM:
Many fashion brands produce too much – on average, 21% of goods remain unsold. Some of this is disposed of, incinerated, or ends up in landfills, often in countries in the Global South.
THE SOLUTION:
TWOTHIRDS only produces after an order has been placed. Delivery takes 2–8 weeks. This approach avoids overproduction, promotes conscious consumption, and significantly reduces emissions. Customers also benefit from price advantages.
Production is local and fair in Europe. In this way, TWOTHIRDS combines sustainable processes with contemporary design and builds a strong community around responsible fashion.
B Corp certified
Since 2022, TWOTHIRDS has been B Corp™ certified, meeting the highest social and environmental standards. This award is given to companies that see business as a force for good and prioritize people and the environment.
The certification is carried out by B Lab and is considered a demanding, holistic auditing process. At the end of 2025, TWOTHIRDS was able to increase its score during recertification from 83.4 to 89.6.
As part of a global network of companies with shared values, TWOTHIRDS aims to actively shape the fashion industry – with a clear focus on true slow fashion and sustainable change.
All materials used in the production of the products are carefully selected, and the production facilities are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified, which guarantees the use of best practices in the textile industry.
Along the entire value chain, TWOTHIRDS is committed to acting ethically and sustainably.
100% Made in Europe
The manufacturing of TWOTHIRDS clothing takes place in three steps: raw material sourcing, fabric production, and garment assembly. The actual production of the clothing predominantly occurs in Northern Portugal, a region with a traditional textile industry known for precise, high-quality craftsmanship.
TWOTHIRDS maintains close partnerships with producers, based on trust and years of collaboration. Regular on-site visits further strengthen these relationships. Fair wages and reliable working conditions create a secure environment for all involved and ensure the high quality of the clothing.
Suppliers for dyeing and washing processes also have their own wastewater treatment plants, which improve water quality in Northern Portugal – an important contribution to sustainable production.
Fair wages and job security
Fair wages and occupational safety are central issues in the fashion industry. TWOTHIRDS produces exclusively in countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy, where production facilities comply with European standards and ensure safe working conditions.
Fair wages are crucial: In Spain and France, the minimum wage is at least at the level of the living wage; in Portugal, the minimum wage in 2025 increased by 6% compared to 2024 – above the inflation rate. European production also guarantees better safety standards, protects the health of employees, prevents unpaid overtime, and all forms of exploitation.
Waste utilization - Creating new things from leftovers
At TWOTHIRDS, only what is actually ordered through the PRE-ORDER system is produced. If a garment does not meet the expected demand, it is sold through the online shop or pop-up stores – never disposed of in landfills or by incineration.
This virtually eliminates deadstock: neither finished clothing nor unused fabric rolls or spools of yarn. While some brands use existing deadstock for new products (TWOTHIRDS does this too), the brand primarily focuses on preventing overproduction – the core of true slow fashion.
